Yes, I did get your note. Thank you so much for taking the time (and effort) to get back to me. It means so much.
Also, I wanted to tell you/remind you about something remarkable and generous and magical that your wonderful Marianne did for me so many years ago. Beyond the fact that her kindness and friendship and spirituality and... irreverence was unmatched in anyone I knew then (and few have come close since) I learned so many life lessons from her... but I remembered recently how I was trying to work and go to school at the time, and it was tough... time wise, financially, etc.
One day, right before school started for the semester, Marianne pulled a big "Gotcha" and bought all my textbooks for me. I think I came home and found them wrapped on my front porch.
I think there was actually a note that said "Gotcha!"
I'm sure she's done things like this hundreds/thousands of times for people in your life over the years, but that was unbelievable for me at the time. What a vote of confidence and gift that was.
Thanks again Cole. For your irreplaceable, shining example all those years ago. You, Marianne, your family and all those memories are a cherished part of the fabric that is me.
